3. Valaciclovir–In case of an outbreak, valaciclovir can help heal the sores faster and shortens the duration of the outbreak resulting to lesser pain and itchiness. When taken as a medication within the 24 hour period of the outbreak, this will manifest better healing potential and contain the skin ulcers in the genital area.
Aside from these three antiviral drugs mentioned, other medications are also currently available as genital herpes cure. Your doctor is well aware of this because pharmaceutical companies supply them with regular updates.
The recurrence of the herpes virus is still unknown to scientists. It may recur when under stress, sickness, exposure to sunlight or during menstrual period in women.
